By now, the story of my misfortune is old news, as is the great response from BlackRapid. The BlackRapid response, however, seems to have a bit of a sequel. After bouncing emails back and forth between the aforementioned Susie, I received an email from her stating that I should expect some sort of delivery from them in the coming days. Imagine my surprise, then, when I came home from work and discovered a rather large box from BlackRapid sitting on my front porch. The contents of that box? Everything you see above! All-in-all, I felt like Scrooge McDuck swimming in BlackRapid straps. I really can't go on enough about the fantastic customer service from the fine folks at BlackRapid. They went out of their way to make my dismal experience a little bit better, and I'm eternally grateful.
My story had even more happiness added to it the other night when, after taking a chance and listing my busted 5D on eBay, a bidding war took place which brought the highest bid to a price that was way more than I ever expected to get for a camera that was listed "as-is" and "for parts or repair". On top of that (and completely unrelated to most of this story), I hit 100 "Likes" on my Facebook Fan Page!
So now the question becomes, "What do I do with all of those straps?". Well, I plan on keeping and using a number of them (different situations require different straps, as BlackRapid will, I'm sure, tell you) but I figure that it's only right that I share my good fortune with fans and friends of Zach Egolf Photography. With that thought, I've decided to start out by giving away a BlackRapid RS-7S Sling Camera Strap!
