Baby Carson snuck up on everyone out of the blue and caught his First Responder parents (and this photographer) by surprise! Luckily, we were able to squeeze him in during a random afternoon. What is it they say about second kids being so much easier? Baby Carson never made a peep, never moved, and cooperated with every adjustment, movement, and sound Big Sister made during the shoot.

To say that this little guy has a ton of love coming his way would be an understatement! I even have to make sure Mrs. Zach Egolf Photography doesn't steal him when she goes to visit!

I'm looking forward to watching the family continue to grow, and to watch Baby Carson grow up to be the young man his parents hope he'll become

The Collins Family | Maryland Family Photographer

By now, The Collins Family are pretty much regulars around ZEP. I made a comment during this session that I could basically use this family as a way to track my progression as a photographer, because I've been photographing them for nearly the entire life of their son, Ryder! They're always so much fun to be around, and it's been great watching them grow as a family!

I hope to continue to follow their progress and spend time with them behind and in front of the camera, for many more years to come!

Baby Hannah's First Birthday | Maryland Family Photographer

By now, Baby Hannah should be no stranger to anyone that has visited the site. That being said...good lord, talk about time flying! It seems like it was just yesterday I was taking this little munchkin's newborn photos and now you can hardly keep her still for 30 seconds to take her photos!

This was another marathon session, planned by Hannah's mother, and my wife (friends outside of ZEP), so we were able to get multiple costume changes, multiple settings, and even had time for a cake smash!

Hannah was a real sport, and a wonderful little doll to photograph. Hit the jump for more photos!

Johnson Family Photos | Maryland Family Photographer

Brett and Monica have a beautiful family, and it was such a joy to photograph them in the peak of the Autumn Colors. A quick trip to scenic Piney Run Park and we were on our way to making magic. Both of their kids were absolute joys, and it was nice to be able to capture the memories in the beautiful weather. This was the first shoot of the Fall, and certainly won't be the last, as we get into my favorite time of the year to shoot photos!

Cambria's Lemonade Stand | Maryland Family Photographer

I'm not going to steal Cambria's glory, here, but you should probably know that as of March 28th, this little lady will be hitting her "One Year Cancer-Free" mark! You can read more of Cambria's story here.

Cambria's mother informed me that she was planning on doing her part to help other children like her, and was going to be hosting a lemonade stand of her own, in honor of the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. In order to help better promote the stand, Cambria's mother asked me to do a session with her daughter, and I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with the results. Landon and Logan's Cake Smash | Maryland Family Photographer

You've not seen these two on the site before, but I swear that they grow a few years every time I see them! Landon and Logan have lived more in their one year on this Earth than most babies will live in their first 10 years. Both children are blessings to their parents, and you can just tell by watching them that they both know they're something special.

That being said, you can also tell by watching them that there's something slightly mischievous going on in their minds, so it was no surprise that these two took to a "Cake Smash" shoot like fish take to water!

Baby Hannah | Carroll County Maryland Newborn Photographer

Baby Hannah's story with ZEP is a interesting and special one. Hannah's mother contacted me a few months before she was born asking if I would be willing to shoot her newborn photos. Of course, I said yes, even after finding out that Hannah was due to arrive very close to the arrival of our own baby. We set the date and put things to the side for a bit.

As things always have a way of happening certain ways, a day or two after Hannah's birth day, we scheduled our session with the warning that we might need to reschedule in the event that our baby decided to come. Sure enough, two days before our scheduled session, my wife went into labor, and we were joined by little baby Noah.

But Hannah and her parents insisted they still wanted photos, and it's so good that they were persistent, because we got some amazingly adorable shots of this little gal. I'm looking forward to many more sessions, watching this little girl grow up!

Rylan is One Year Old! | Western Maryland Family Photographer

Not even two feet of snow could stop this handsome little dude from strutting his stuff for the camera. Rylan was one of the most playful and energetic one-year olds I've ever had the pleasure of capturing with a camera and that gave us plenty of opportunity for action shots, smiles, and good times!

Addy and Ryder | Western Maryland Engagement Photographer

Okay, so the title of this post is a little deceptive. This was actually a kids shoot, but I'll go ahead and warn you right now:

If you suffer from cuteness allergies, stop reading. This shoot was overwhelmingly cute!

You've all probably seen previous posts about Addy and Ryder, separately, but I had the pleasure a few weekends ago of getting these two together for a shoot! Baby Harrison | Columbia, MD Family Photographer

On a crisp Autumn day (a lot crisper than we thought it would be), I was joined by little Harrison and his wonderful parents. There must be something with parents telling me that they're worried their little tike is "shy" and "might be difficult to photograph", because I've been blessed enough to be able to call them all liars!

Harrison shook off the cold weather and gave us some great faces, and made for a fantastic shoot!

Murray Family Photo Session | Maryland Family Photographer

One of the things I try my hardest to do, as a photographer, is respect the wishes of my clients no matter what. A lot of times, those wishes are simply "Can you hold off on sharing these with your readers until I've had a chance to surprise my family". That's not a very difficult wish to fulfill, and one that I'm more than happy to oblige. Unfortunately, as the years keep passing by, this means that I'm more likely to forget to actually share those photos once the "proof period" has expired. I was really surprised (and disappointed) to have recently discovered that I forgot to share one of my favorite family sessions from 2012, the Murray Family.

Covert and Conrad Family Session | West Friendship, Maryland Family Photographer

In the realm of clients, few things make this photographer happier than repeats. Sure, it's always great when one family enjoys my photos enough to recommend me to another family, but there are few joys more pure than knowing that a family enjoyed my work so much that they're willing to bring me back and have them capture more memories.

This was the case with the Covert family!

I had the pleasure of capturing the first few days of their adorable baby girl, Makenna, and was delighted to find out that they were so happy with their photos, they wanted to book me for a session for Christmas cards, and they wanted to bring along Morgan's sister and family.

I love a session like this, because the families really play well off of each other and it makes for some great photos. I can't wait to continue to see how baby Makenna continues to grow up and follow along with her family! More photos down below...
