Sun Setting on Key West
My wife and I recently celebrated our very first anniversary as a married couple in Key West, Florida. Having taken our honeymoon in Antigua, we figured it would be pretty much impossible to trump that trip anywhere else in the world, but we decided that, since you only get one "First" anniversary , we should at least attempt to have a little fun (while we still can). We booked our trip to Key West and were lucky enough to have a friend who had lived there for a few years and was able to give us a short tour guide of the places we needed to visit!
One of the places that we were told we absolutely HAD to go to was The Sunset Pier in Mallory Square. I believe our guide's exact words were, "You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't visit this place every night". We missed our chance to go the first night, but did end up making it a few nights later in the week, and I have to say we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic, they always had a little band playing and, as you can see from the shots on this post, the views were absolutely breathtaking.
Every night that we went provided even prettier views than the last. This place was like something out of a movie where two star-crossed lovers would meet after being apart for many years, only to have the guy drop to one knee and propose on the spot. I'm actually surprised we didn't see any proposals while we were there. People even clapped when the sun had set, as if the sun was actually putting on a performance!
I'm really proud of a lot of the shots that I was able to take, so I've decided to post some of the sunset shots up for sale. If you follow this link to my SmugMug site, you can pick up prints in any number of sizes and shapes, and even have them printed on canvas if you want! All prints will be without watermark, and of the highest resolution, and I offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you're not happy with the final product!
If you ever get the chance to head to Key West, make sure you stop by this amazing place. You won't be disappointed!
