A Slight Detour

Santa brought someone a little present for Christmas this year in the form of the Samsung NX1100.  The long and short of it?  It's a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS Mirrorless Camera with built-in wifi.  It's a tiny little camera that packs a HUGE punch.  Don't believe me?  Every image taken in this post was taken with the NX1100?

Want to know something even crazier?  Each photo was transferred wirelessly to my Nexus 7, edited with the MOBILE version of Snapseed, and uploaded to Flickr.

Some folks may be aware that I'm a part of a podcast, (The F-Stops Here Podcast) and, if you've watched or listen, may be aware of my thoughts on Wifi in cameras.  Well, call me a convert, because the built-in wifi might be one of the coolest features of this camera!

I'm really hoping to get some good glass to put on this camera, and really hope to use it a ton in 2014.  My thoughts are on sticking with Prime lenses, but I've heard from some very reliable sources that Samsung's zooms are just as tack-sharp as their prime glass.

Plan on seeing a lot more from this little guy in the coming year, and keep an eye on my social media accounts for constant updates from the NX1100!
